We're celebrating great employees across the Cambridge region.

The Cambridge Independent Employee Awards are open for nominations – offering you a chance to nominate a member of your staff or a colleague for recognition.

The awards will run monthly until the end of 2017.

To nominate someone, simply fill in the form on this page. All you have to do is say in no more than 200 words why you feel your employee or colleague is worthy of one of our awards. We will judge the entries.

We’re looking for local businesses to nominate a member of staff who perhaps has gone above and beyond their duties, who has achieved distinguished long service or who constantly overperforms and may otherwise go unnoticed.

The closing date for the second winner is August 31 and he or she will win a prize from one of our four sponsors: Cambridge Fruit Company, recruitment agency Ann Pettengell, Chocolat Chocolat and the Royal Cambridge Hotel.

The winner will be photographed at their place of work, receiving their prize from one of our sponsors, and their story will be featured in the Cambridge Independent in early August.

Sarah Flack, recruitment manager at recruitment agency Ann Pettengell, said: “As a company, Ann Pettengell is delighted to be co-sponsoring the Employee Awards.

“As one of the original recruitment agencies established in Cambridge, we have a long historical link to the city.

“We are a very people-centric business and the awards are a great opportunity to recognise the hard work and dedication by employees in the city, that make Cambridge such a fantastic place to work and live in.”

Isabelle Chappell, chocolatier and owner of Chocolat Chocolat, said: “I am delighted that Chocolat Chocolat was asked to be one of the sponsors of the Employee Awards.

“Many of our business customers buy our chocolate to treat their colleagues or thank their customers and this is a wonderful way of saying thank you to Cambridge’s vibrant business community and it’s discerning chocolate lovers.”

Stewart Rushton, general manager of The Royal Cambridge Hotel, said: “It’s a privilege to have our new restaurant and bar, 6 Scroope Terrace, sponsoring the newly-founded Employee Awards.

“Cambridge is a great city, with fantastic people at the heart of it. We’re delighted to have the opportunity to reward some of those hard-working employees and it will be a pleasure to welcome them to 6 Scroope Terrace and our Gin Palace.”

Paul Brackley, editor of the Cambridge Independent, said: “Employees are the greatest asset of a business. This is a chance for employers or colleagues to acknowledge the contribution of an otherwise unsung hero of the company.”
