Chef Danielle has a wealth of worldwide experience and has worked in many five-star hotels.

She is passionate about showing everybody that it is possible to enjoy stunning desserts that are also vegan-friendly and gluten-free.

Chef Danielle also loves working with independent small businesses such as the Thrive Café and feels that local businesses really need local support.

She said: “I have travelled all over the world and when I went vegan I realised vegans deserve better than a fruit salad – so much so that is even the name of my recipe book!

“I love spending time in Cambridge – and I always head over to the market where I stroll for a couple of hours. A walk along the river gives me the inspiration for my new desserts too.

“I am absolutely delighted to bring the art of vegan patisserie to such a vibrant and cultured city again.

“I look forward to sharing an afternoon of indulgence, innovation and plant-based creativity with Cambridge Independent readers!”

Chef Danielle adds: “It’s a pleasure to collaborate with Thrive Café on this exciting event… I always have a wonderful time in Cambridge.

“My goal has always been to take vegan desserts beyond expectations, showing they can be just as luxurious and delicious as traditional options.

“I can’t wait to showcase what’s possible with plant-based patisserie!”

Belgium-born Chef Danielle Maupertuis is the UK’s leading executive vegan pastry chef, as well as an author, presenter and trainer at The Vegetarian Society.
