Jason Donovan tops the bill at Shelford Festival & Feast 2025
It’s that time of year again when the ever-popular week-long series of concerts, comedy shows, activities and events that is Shelford Festival & Feast comes to the Grand Marquee on Great Shelford Recreation Ground.
This year’s edition runs on 5-12 July and the standout name on the bill is Jason Donovan, though, unsurprisingly, that has already sold out.
All of the feast’s profits go to charity and to date, the organisers have donated more than £391,000 to various good causes.
The line-up for 2025 is as follows:
Saturday, 5 July, 12-5pm
The Tayabali and White Beer Festival (free entry). In the evening there will be a DJ set with Scott Mills, BBC Radio 2’s main morning drive time host, at 7-11pm.
Sunday, 6 July, 12-5pm
Feast Sunday with all the attractions that Shelford Feast is known for, as in great food, entertainment, a full bar, and historic cars and motorbikes on display.
Monday, 7 July, 6.30-11pm
Quiz Night, the quiz to end all quizzes with often more than 50 teams challenging for the Feast Trophy and bragging rights.
Tuesday, 8 July, 7-10.30pm
Sawston Youth Drama showcases its productions from the past year and a lot of old favourites sung by future stars.
Wednesday, 9 July, 7-10.30pm
Rattlesnake Johnny and the Yee Haw Crew. Award-winning DJ Rattlesnake Johnny will be spinning the hottest modern country hits to keep the dance hall packed all night with dancers and singers.
Thursday, 10 July, 7-11pm
Comedy Night. Headliner Troy Hawke (aka Milo McCabe) is known for his interesting take on interviewing the public, as part of his work for The Greeters Guild. Also appearing are Tom Wrigglesworth, Louise Leigh and Matt Price.
Friday, 11 July, 7-11pm
Jason Donovan and Back to The 80s. Jason is up first and the night continues with Back to the 80s. This event has sold out.
Saturday, 12 July, 7-11pm
The Anthems Ibiza Orchestra. Welcome back to an incredible evening of live dance anthems with a live orchestra and some of the UK’s top vocalists.
Scott Mills takes over the DJ slot from Trevor Nelson, who performed at the last three Shelford Feasts. Scott also recently entertained the crowds at the Robbie Williams gigs at the Emirates Stadium.
During his DJ set, Rattlesnake Johnny will be playing a mix of modern country hits along with timeless country classics. Country music is all the rage at the moment, so this should be a popular event.
Alongside Johnny, the Yee Haw crew of singers and dancers will deliver electrifying live performances of foot-stomping, hand-clapping country anthems that’ll have you singing and dancing along.
The set will include full club sound and lighting.
One of the organisers said: “With so many local Cambridge fairs and festivals not happening this year due to lack of funds and sponsorship, it is an absolute credit to the team of volunteers that have been running the Shelford Feast for the last 10, 20, 30 years that we look forward to another fantastic week starting on 5 July.
“With the decades of groundwork, the Feast has gone from strength to strength. Acts have got bigger, crowds have increased, and events have multiplied.
“The Shelford Festival & Feast now runs across eight separate days/evenings, and is filled with great live music, DJ sets and class comedy – and still retains the community events of quizzes, performances, local gatherings, beer/gin festivals and at the heart of it all, the full Sunday event of Feast Day – this year on Sunday, 6 July.
“It truly has been and continues to be a fantastic event for our local communities.”
Shelford Festival & Feast also presents the Cambridge University Gospel Choir, who will be performing at St Mary’s Church, Great Shelford, on Friday, 11 July, at 7-8.30pm. Tickets are £10 (children get in free).
