Join Cambridge Zero’s Community Day for climate action

The University of Cambridge is holding a free day of hands-on climate activities, talks, and community collaboration tomorrow (Saturday, 28 June).

Organised by Cambridge Zero, the University’s climate change initiative, the Cambridge Zero Community Day 2025 is a chance for people of all ages to come together and explore how we can build a more sustainable and resilient future.

Visit us at the Student Services Centre on Bene’t Street from 10am to 5pm for a day filled with opportunities to learn and connect, with a closing evening choral performance at Great St Mary’s Church (7-8.30pm).

There will be hands-on workshops like battery-building, virtual reality experiences, and climate science demos with the CHaOS Science Roadshow - as well as pop-up exhibitions from local climate and community groups such as Transition Cambridge, Cambridge Friends of the Earth, Parkside Social Action and more.

Talks and debates include a live panel on sustainability, and there will also be a short film screening on climate anxiety and action, and a Citizen’s Jury session: ‘Who should lead climate action?’

The day will close with a special performance of Music & Words on the theme of Humans and Nature by the Inter Alios Choir at Great St Mary’s Church.

Professor Emily Shuckburgh, director of Cambridge Zero, said: “Cambridge Zero Community Day 2025 is a fantastic opportunity for everyone in Cambridge to come together - share ideas, spark collaboration, and take action to build a sustainable, climate-resilient future.”
