Cambridge Sensoriis set to unveil advanced radar capabilities at Xponential Europe

Cambridge Sensoriis is set to unveil new levels of functionality at Xponential Europe, held in Düsseldorf on 18–20 February.

The Bourn-based radar technology specialist’s ARC (Active Radar Cooperating) System boasts a new suite of advanced capabilities including radar tethering. This cutting-edge feature allows unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to autonomously track and follow moving vehicles without needing satellite navigation by using localisation data from ARC’s standalone radars.

It is also introducing RadarAware, an obstacle detect-and-avoid system that supports beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations. This strategic addition bolsters the firm’s deep expertise in radar antenna design and augments UAV operational capabilities for mission critical operations.

Steve Clark, founder and CEO, says of RadarAware that “we are already conducting flight testing with early adopters and have customer orders in the pipeline”.

Of the ARC suite, Steve adds: “ARC is the result of close collaboration with our clients and partners. We’ve always believed that advanced capabilities such as tethering and autonomous landing could enhance drone operations, and we’re excited to pioneer further innovations for commercial and military airborne systems.”

Xponential Europe is the leading trade fair for autonomous technologies and robotics. eld annually in Germany, the forum began in 2023, and this year event will include the European Drone Forum, is a key platform for dialogue between the UAS (Unmanned Aircraft System) industry and regulators.
