Formpipe Lasernet's delight at first 30 years
Duxford-based Formpipe Lasernet has been celebrating 30 years of success as a software innovation leader.
Established 30 years ago in Denmark, the firm’s early success was attributed to expanding from a hardware box to a cloud-based software product.
Since then, the company has worked with businesses that experience challenges associated with managing large quantities of documents. The result is the creation and distribution of well-designed, brand-rich documents that work across multiple platforms. Lasernet allows users to capture, process, store, archive, and supply information in a systemised and controlled manner.
Lasernet has unrivalled integration with Microsoft Dynamics 365, NAV, SAP and Infor along with other enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions. In recent years, the company has implemented easy-to-use graphical interfaces that reduce the time taken to create documents.
A Microsoft Gold Partner and member of Microsoft’s PREP, Formpipe Lasernet is sold and supported through a certified network of global partners.
Mike Rogers, director of sales and marketing – private sector, says: “Our success and longevity is due to the advanced capabilities and continuous improvements of our products. We have stayed true to our core of what we do and have been doing for 30 years – we are the specialists.
“Our next big opportunity is the US market and this is somewhere we are seeing rapid growth.
“The new connectors are without a doubt the way the market is expected to go. The private sector is also another big opportunity for us, we now have the opportunity to build on software that’s in other parts of the business and bring it into Lasernet and the network of customers and partners.”
“It’s all about the creation of documents,” comments sales executive Nick Collard. “Ours is integrated with the ERP system, so when a customer implements Lasernet’s software, the invoicing process – for instance – takes two to three days instead of ten days.
“With the adoption of cloud technology most of our new business is based in that environment. Customers purchase licenses from us, which are installed within Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, we then provide the customer with training so they become self-sufficient in that process.
“One of the challenges for us is keeping up with Microsoft’s software and their development cycles. We have close integration with Microsoft, we are a Microsoft Gold Partner and we’re now in the fortunate position where they are introducing us to their customers.”
Formpipe Lasernet is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. There are 230 people in the group worldwide, with 50 based at the firm’s premises in The Officer’s Mess Business Centre at Duxford.
Customers include London City Airport, Midwich distribution centre in Norfolk and Samworth Brothers, the owners of Ginsters the pasty and pie makers, plus myriad local authorities.
