‘ReCode’ your denim service launched by DressCode Shirts

DressCode Shirts has launched a new range titled ‘ReCode’ which uses discarded denim to create new items of clothing.

DressCode has developed a ‘chic geek’ range of shirts using its own-brand payment shirt technology, CashCuff. Now, founder Andy Boothman has turned his attention to upcycling with ReCode – motto ‘Don’t be a denim dumper’.

“‘Don’t be a denim dumper’ is something that has been on my mind for some time,” says Andy. “Earlier this year I found someone who shared the desire to see this waste product put to good use and we are revealing new products made from old denim at the end of September.

“With this project we want to actively encourage people to donate their ‘tired’ denim, rather than throwing it away. For every pair of jeans that we receive we will give £5 off any DressCode or Recode item, to a maximum of three items donated - a £15 voucher. The vouchers can be used against any DressCode or ReCode item over £50.”

Andy adds: “The denim is donated and collected. We are constantly scouring charity shops and speaking with recycling companies about denim.”

The jackets cost £175. The limited edition T-shirts will be £35-40 “depending upon the work involved creating each design” in what Andy calls it “a consultation process”.
