23 stunning photographs from Cambridge Camera Club’s free 2024 exhibition
Cambridge Camera Club’s free annual exhibition is under way at a new location.
St Andrew’s Baptist Church, at 43 St Andrew’s Street (CB2 3AR) is hosting the exhibition until Saturday, 5 October.
The show is supported again by the Cambridge Independent and we present a small selection of the images here from the 210 prints and 265 digital images on display, chosen by judges Debra Bennett, Allan Hale and Jonathan Vaines from the large number of entries from club members.
Prints are available to purchase at the exhibition, giving visitors a chance to pick up a piece for the wall at a fraction of the price you might expect to pay.
The exhibition runs at 10am-5pm each day until Saturday and is stewarded throughout by club members, who will be pleased to offer tips and advice.
A highlight of the city’s photographic calendar, the exhibition has been timed this year to coincide with Photography Week – a host of events organised by Campkins Camera, the King’s Parade store, which culminates in the Cambridge Photography Show at the Hilton Cambridge City Centre hotel in Downing Street, from 9.30am to 4pm on 5 October.
Club president Debra said: “Our annual exhibition is the highlight of our club calendar, giving us the opportunity to display our work to a wider audience. This year we are pleased to be able to stage our exhibition to coincide with Campkins’ Photography Show. This is an exciting new step for us.”
The winner of the Cambridge Independent Trophy for the Best News, Sport or Documentary Image and the award from the mayor of Cambridge, Cllr Baiju Thittala, who officially opened the exhibition, are on display.
Other sponsors include Samsung, Permajet, Wex, signagelive, AcuCert Electrical, Campkins Cameras, Prestige Traditional Windows and Doors, and Cambridge Autumn Photography Show.
You can also view the exhibition at cambcc.org.uk/Publichome and look out for more coverage in the Cambridge Independent, including details of all the winners in the edition out from Wednesday, 9 October. Visit cambridgephotographyweek.com for more on Photography Week.
