Win prizes with Cityscape photography competition from YellowKorner Cambridge and the ARU Cambridge School of Art

A brilliant new photography competition in Cambridge is now open for entries, offering prizes and the chance for photographers to have their work put on sale in galleries worldwide.

YellowKorner Cambridge, a specialist in limited edition art photography, and Anglia Ruskin University’s Cambridge School of Art have teamed up for the Cityscape competition, which has the theme ‘alternative Cambridge’.

The competition is supported by the Cambridge Independent, and our picture editor Keith Heppell – a winner of a UK regional photographer of the year award – will join the judging panel along with Joe McCullagh, from the Cambridge School of Art, and Glen Smith, YellowKorner Cambridge.

While Cambridge has many famous sights - with its stunning architecture and chauffeured punts gliding along the River Cam - YellowKorner Cambridge and Cambridge School of Art are encouraging photographers to discover new parts of the city or to photograph these renowned sights from a different perspective.

Gallery director Glen Smith said: “Cambridge is a vibrant city with a cultural scene that embraces visual art. Together with Cambridge School of Art we hope to encourage local talent and highlight new artistic views of the city.”

Head of the School Joe McCullagh said: “This is a great opportunity to celebrate our talented students and alumni and inspire the region’s young people to be the creators of the future.”

Eligible entries will be showcased on YellowKorner Cambridge’s social media platform and reviewed by a panel of judges based on a truly artistic approach, impact, creativity and style, lighting and colour balance.

Cambridge is one of 150 YellowKorner galleries around the world that offer a wide panorama of both traditional and contemporary limited edition art photography. Every print is available in various formats, finishes, frames and is tailor-made.
