A light coloured Volkgswagen five door hatchback pulled onto the drive of the victim’s home in The Cinques on Thursday, April 13.

A man got out and knocked on the door and walked into the home claiming he was going to be carrying out works in a neighbouring garden.

Two further men then got out of the vehicle and entered the home. They made off with £260 in cash.

Detective Constable Sarah Longbottom, from the southern burglary team, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this burglary and saw either the vehicle or these men.

“I would ask people to view any dashcam or doorbell footage they may have. Any information, however insignificant it may seem, could prove valuable to the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police online, quoting reference 35/27557/23
