Canine lovers who could provide a new home for a rescue dog in the Cambridge area are being sought for a programme on Channel 4.
The Dog House is filmed at Wood Green, The Animals Charity, based in Godmanchester, and Five Mile Films has been recommissed to make a further two more series.
The first series aired on Channel 4 in 2019, and drew an average audience of 1.4million viewers.
Here’s last year’s trailer:
The Dog House explored the way dogs can benefit human lives, such as curing loneliness, extra company for a child, a gentle companion to help with physical and mental health concerns.
Wood Green takes in hundreds of discarded, disowned or neglected dogs every year, and in 2019 helped more than 700 dogs, with the staff dedicated to finding the perfect home.
The series explores the matching process, delving into the backgrounds of the dogs, and the hopes and expectations of the people who come through the doors, looking for love.
The production team is looking for people in Cambridge who could offer a loving, lifelong home to a rescue dog. To get an application form, email thedoghouse@fivemilefilms.co.uk.
