Art competition provides exciting half-term project
Artist Debbie Baxter, of Hub Co-Create Cambridge, and Dumbletons Studios are working together to promote an art competition for six to 15-year-olds to celebrate the Year of the Tree 2020.
The task is to paint a tree, or trees, in any medium in any situation from life or imaginary and in any size – but not photography.
Frances Dumbleton and Debbie will judge the best entries and these will then be showcased in the Cambridge Independent. Readers will then choose a winner and two runners-up.
The top 30 will be displayed in the gallery at Hub Co-Create in Milton Road for public viewing over Christmas with the three winners in pride of place in the window.
The winner and two runners-up will receive:
- First place: a two-hour art class with Debbie and 50 greetings cards with envelopes made of their winning picture
- Second place: a two-hour art class with Debbie and 12 long-handled acrylic paint brushes
- Third place: a two-hour art class with Debbie.
All entries must be submitted from today (October 22) and November 12 and the winning entries will be announced the following week.
