Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s Christmas tree recycling scheme is back
If you don’t want the hassle of getting rid of your Christmas tree, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC) could collect it and recycle it for you.
Its teams of dedicated volunteers will be out and about collecting trees between January 12-15 in the following Cambridgeshire postcode areas: CB1, CB2, CB3, CB4, CB5, CB21, CB22, CB23, CB24 & CB25 (covering Waterbeach and Landbeach) and some areas of Wisbech.
The charity welcomes a donation in exchange for taking your real tree to be recycled, but please note you must register in advance, before 11.59pm this Sunday (January 8) at arhc.org.uk/tree-recycling.
The festive fundraiser, sponsored by Cooke, Curtis & Co (Trumpington) and Cyber Business Growth (Royston), is only possible if more than 150 volunteers donate their time to making the four-day scheme a success.
Arthur Rank Hospice Charity’s event fundraiser, Bec Beattie, said: “In January 2022, our community helped us to collect just over 3,000 trees and raise over £56,000 to support people in Cambridgeshire living with an advanced serious illness or other life-limiting condition.”
“This January we need volunteer drivers, preferably with their own van, as well as businesses and organisations who can provide vans, and crew members again for a fun day and to help us raise even more funds to provide hospice care to our local communities.”
