Bonfire Night in pictures: Cambridge fireworks display 2022 goes off with a bang
Thousands attended the Cambridge fireworks display on Midsummer Common on Bonfire Night (Saturday, November 5) and enjoyed a spectacular display, as our pictures show.
The annual event was sponsored this year by Illumina and organised by Cambridge City Council, and was one of the largest free displays in the region.
The fireworks display began at 7pm and was designed by the multi award-winning company, Pains Fireworks.
Road closures were in place, with attendees “strongly advised” to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the event.
The event was making a welcome return after two years in which the pandemic forced its cancellation.
Many other displays were held around the region, including in Ely, Cambourne, Hilton and Histon and Impington.
And if the displays have left you in the mood for more fireworks, there is still one event you can look forward to.
Winter Whoosh! takes place at the Missing Sock restaurant in Newmarket Road, Stow cum Quy, on Saturday, November 26
Whoosh! is a collaboration of promoters, DJs, live artists and entertainer and will stage its flagship annual fireworks party, with special guests Utah Saints, from 7pm-3am.
Tickets are priced from £27.75 from whooshevents.info/.
