Cambridge City Council by-election date is announced following resignation

A by-election in King’s Hedges will be held on July 4 following the resignation of former councillor Alex Collis.

This by-election will take place on a Tuesday, not a Thursday, as is typical for most other elections.

Residents are being reminded to ensure that they are registered to vote ahead of the poll.

Anyone who is not registered must do so by 11.59pm on June 16 by either going online to gov.uk or calling 01223 457048 for a paper application form.

Residents can apply for a postal or proxy vote at electoralcommission.org.uk.

People voting in person for the by-election will need to show photo ID.
