Cambridge fire crews deal with two arson attacks in one evening
Firefighters were called to two fires in Cambridge on Wednesday evening (August 23) that are believed to have been started by arsonists.
Crews from Cambridge were called to a garage fire on Butler Way at 7.42pm. They put it out and returned to their station by 8.05pm.
They were then called to reports of a motorbike on fire on Addenbrooke’s Road at 10.40pm. They used a hose reel to extinguish it and returned to their station by 11.27pm.
Both fires had been started deliberately, the fire service said.
Earlier in the day, at 3.05pm, a crew from Cambridge was called to a fire in the open on Back Lane in Great Cambourne that had also been started on purpose.
Firefighters extinguished it before returning to their station by 3.29pm.
