Cambridge man Kouros Majidi takes on the One Million Step Challenge again
Kouros Majidi is to attempt the One Million Step Challenge with Diabetes UK for the second year running.
The retired photographic technician, who has type II diabetes and had heart surgery in 2009, completed the challenge last year, clocking up 1,212,477 steps by walking a route around Cambridge every day from July 1 to September 30, raising £545 in the process.
He said: “It was a big surprise to me how much I enjoyed the experience and how I could feel it benefitting my body and mind every day. So when the call came this year to do the challenge again, I did not hesitate.
"I will be walking all around my local area of Queen Edith’s, including Cherry Hinton and the Biomedical Campus, every day for three months from July 1. If anybody wishes to make a small donation for sponsorship that would be fantastic.
"I will be giving the challenge my all and hope I can raise more funds for the charity.”
