Cambridge meat thief breached behaviour order eight times
A 30-year-old man who stole hundreds of pounds worth of meat from stores in Cambridge has been jailed.
Josh Collinson-Prime took meat and chocolate from Co-op stores in Hills Road, Histon Road, Milton Road, Mill Road and Chesterton Road on nine occasions between 14 September and 24 March.
Collinson-Prime also breached his two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which was handed to him in October stating he must not enter any Co-op, Sainsbury’s or BP store within Cambridgeshire or conceal any item in any shop.
Collinson-Prime, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to eight counts of breaching a CBO, nine counts of theft and two counts of bike theft at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (27 March). He was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Sergeant Dan Scott, from the Spree Offender Team, said: “CBO’s are designed to prevent thieves from entering areas where they have previously committed crime and any breaches are taken extremely seriously by the courts.”
