Cambridge Roar raises £22,000 for charity
It takes the charity fundraisers' overall total to £107,000 raised in just four years.
This year, the money will be split between four beneficiaries: East Anglian Air Ambulance, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, Cambridge United Community Trust and Racing Welfare.
Roar chairman Tony Murdock said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and support from the community and beyond – from the event goers and public, to the sponsors and local businesses.
“Everyone involved with the Roar is delighted with this result.”
Over 2,000 guests attended the eight events at the Quy Mill Hotel and Spa in 2018.
Roar non-executive director Chris Mann, of BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, said: “It’s been a brilliant effort and I would like to pay tribute to Tony and the team behind the scenes for their inspirational hard work.
“The money raised will literally change and improve lives.”
