Ruby helps teddy bears visit sick children at Addenbrooke's in Cambridge

Sixth-former Ruby Barnard has taken the teddy bears she raised funds to buy to Addenbrooke's Hospital to give them to sick children.

The 17-year-old from Cambridge, who has been offered an interview at Oxford University - where she hopes to go to study psychology next year - raised money to buy more than 100 toys from the Grand Arcade's Build-a-Bear shop, where she works at weekends.

Ruby passed her £550 target for Cuddles for Christmas in just six days, raising a total of £885.88.

She and some friends from Comberton Sixth-Form - Ruby is one of Comberton's student presidents - dressed the bears up and took them around the four children's wards at Addenbrooke's on Monday (December 17).
