Coffee shop could be created along with alternative medicine spa in Cambridge

Plans to open a new spa offering alternative medicine in Cambridge have been withdrawn, as the business owner also wants to offer a coffee shop on site.

The original planning application, submitted to Cambridge City Council, sought permission to convert the ground floor and basement of the shop at 112 Mill Road - a former printing and photocopying business - into a spa.

Minimal changes to the exterior of the building, which sits on the corner of Devonshire Road, were proposed.

But correspondence with planning officers shows the applicant later revealed a desire to offer a coffee shop alongside the spa.

A planning officer responded that the original application would have to be withdrawn and new plans submitted, which the applicant plans to do.
