The community came together last night (Wednesday, September 21) to mark the launch of the Cambridge Independent.

More than 120 people from local businesses, councils and community groups attended the event, which was held at Gonville and Caius College.

Guests were greeted with canapes and drinks before enjoying a meal in the dining hall.

There were speeches from Iliffe Media chairman Edward Iliffe, managing director Ricky Allan and Cambridge Independent editor Paul Brackley, who said afterwards: “It was terrific to see so many people at our launch. We are grateful for all the support and look forward to working with the community to deliver a distinctive, intelligent and engaging title.”
