Detectives launch murder investigation in Cambridge and make arrest following stabbing




An arrest has been made by detectives who have launched a murder investigation in Cambridge following the death of a man in the early hours of today (Tuesday, 25 February).

Police were called by the ambulance service at 1am with reports of a stabbing in Chesterton Road.

The man, who was in his 50s, was pronounced dead at 1.18am.

Detectives arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder this morning. He remains in custody at Parkside Police Station.

Det Insp Mark Butler, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “I understand this is likely to be concerning to the local community, but we believe it to be an isolated incident and we have extra patrols in the area today.
