Driver arrested after A14 collision leaves motorcyclist in Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries




A driver has been arrested after a collision on the A14 that left a motorcyclist in Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called at about 12.40pm on Sunday (27 April) to the eastbound carriageway at Fenstanton following the collision between a silver Vauxhall Astra estate and a blue and silver Kawasaki motorbike.

The motorbike rider, a man in his 50s from Leicester, remains in hospital in Cambridge.

The driver of the Astra, a 43-year-old man from Kimbolton, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs. He has been released on bail while investigations take place.

Officers are appealing for information or dashcam footage from anyone who was travelling along the A14 between Godmanchester and Fenstanton at about 12.40pm on Sunday, who may have witnessed the collision or the moments leading up to it.
