Drug dealer caught with 19 bags of cocaine in Cambridge is jailed
A drug dealer has been jailed after being caught in Cambridge with 19 bags of cocaine and fraudulent identification.
Eugen Dega, 19, was spotted by police driving a Toyota in Cherry Hinton Road at about 5.30pm on 15 February.
He had no insurance and there was £755 in cash on the passenger seat.
Dega was searched and the bags of cocaine were found in one of his coat pockets.
In a further search at the police station, he was found to have £100 in his wallet along with an identification card and driving licence, both in a different name.
Dega, of no fixed address, was jailed for 20 months on 14 April at Peterborough Crown Court, having pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession/control of identity documents with intent, acquiring/using/possessing criminal property, having no insurance and having no licence.
Det Con Antonio Fernandez said: “We want to make Cambridge as difficult a place as possible to deal drugs, so I’m glad the courts have handed down this sentence.
“Drugs ruin the lives of all of those who come into contact with them and blight communities with associated crime.”
Drug dealing can be reported via the force website.
