Eduardo, who was joined by Laura Bird - whose life was once saved by EAAA - for the first part of the run, said that it was “a very enjoyable two days” and revealed that many people lined the route to cheer him on. “I knew EAAA was a big charity but it’s bigger than I thought,” he said, “it has touched more people than I thought.”

Eduardo added that the run took an hour longer than expected on the Saturday and half an hour longer on the Sunday as he was speaking with well-wishers along the way. “They had been waiting for me for, I presume, half an hour or so - the least I could do was to stop and have a chat with them,” he said, “and it was also a good excuse to stretch my legs and have a break.”
