Europe Day, held on May 9, marks the anniversary of the presentation of the Schuman Declaration, an event which led to today's European Union.

It celebrates shared values of freedom, democracy, human rights, equality, human dignity and the rule of law - the same values that the people of Ukraine are now fighting to defend against the Russian invasion.
