Film to light up Guildhall in Cambridge
The Guildhall is being lit up every evening for the next fortnight with a specially commissioned 10-minute film about life in the city.
Cambridge Light Show at the Guildhall, which started on Monday (February 14), will aim to celebrate the community, acknowledging some of the city’s history, industry, diversity, values and achievements.
Presented on a loop daily at 6.30pm to 9pm, the film combines animation with archive imagery plus an ambient soundtrack featuring sounds and music inspired by the city.
It is the creation of Double Take Projections, specialists in projection mapping, who’ve created spectacular projections for St Pauls Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle and Royal Albert Docks.
Cameron Gleave, from Double Take Projections, said: “The animation takes us on a journey of evolution through Cambridge’s history to present day – iIlluminating the facade like never before. We wanted to celebrate the city’s diverse culture, exploring things like local art, architecture and most importantly the people that make up the community.”
