Firefighters called to fire in Station Square near Cambridge railway station
Multiple fire crews attended a blaze in Station Square, close to Cambridge railway station, this morning (Wednesday, 13 November).
Station Road was closed and people were warned to stay away from the area. However the incident is now over and the road has reopened.
Stagecoach buses told passengers that they were not able to service the station area while firefighters were at the scene.
A passenger who arrived at the rail station at 10.45am said: “The trains were delayed by about five minutes but there wasn’t any announcement. We couldn’t see any smoke when we arrived but there were lots of fire engines around and I could see four or five buses parked up behind them. I hope everyone is OK.”
It is understood that the fire was out by the time the fire crews arrived.
