Firefighters tackle deliberate car fire in Willingham

The blaze was spreading to a nearby building.

A fire crew from St Ives was called to a fire on Green Street in Willingham at 6.19pm yesterday, Wednesday December 27.

Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight, with the fire spreading to a nearby building.

Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and a jet. They also used a positive pressure ventilation to clear the smoke and a thermal imaging camera to check the building.

The crew returned to their station by 8.55pm.
