Flood alert in force for Lower River Cam in Cambridgeshire

Heavy rain means the River Cam is expected to rise further today.
The Environment Agency is warning that flooding is possible in Greater Cambridge today, and warning residents to be prepared.
The warning has been issued due to the heavy rain experienced overnight and into this morning.
It says that the River Cam is reacting to the rain and is expected to rise further today.
The forecast for today is for continued rain.
The Environment Agency says it is expecting river levels to rise steadily in response to the rainfall. Locations most at risk are the River Cam from Stapleford to Waterbeach.
Please be aware of raised river levels and take care on wet paths and roads.
