Gallery: Hundreds head to Grantchester for Boxing Day barrel race
Crowds headed to Grantchester to cheer on the teams in the village’s annual Boxing Day barrel race.
Spectators lined the streets behind hay bales as teams did battle in a frantic relay.
The race, which involves rolling barrels along a 100-yard course in small teams of four, first started in the 1960s and was revived 16 years ago.
Money raised at this year’s event will be donated to the charity Young Minds, who work to improve the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people.
Teams competed to roll the empty barrels as quickly as possible without injuring the hundreds of spectators.
