Vintage clothing boutique Pocket Watch & Petticoats celebrated the opening of its new Cambridge store last Saturday (August 10) with a flash mob in front of its premises on St John’s Street.

Live music was provided by The Knightingales at the opening of the third Pocket Watch & Petticoats shop (establishments already exist in Ipswich and in Bury St Edmunds).

Founder Sophia Taylor said: “I just wanted to introduce ourselves to Cambridge, and it was fantastic.

"You couldn’t move all day inside the shop – it was a real buzz, and the ladies who came down all looked amazing.”

Sophia added: “In terms of it being a dancing flash mob, it almost wasn’t that; it was just a union of lots of ladies in their 40s and 50s outfits.

"So throughout the day, we had about 100 ladies come on down.”
