Garage fire spreads to house in Bourn




Firefighters spent more than three hours tackling a fire that spread from two garages to two houses.

Crews were called to the blaze on Caxton End in Bourn on Saturday (February 18) at 5.08am.

Engines from Huntingdon, Ramsey, Chatteris, St Neots, Burwell, Cottenham, Cambridge, and the turntable ladder from Cambridge responded.

Firefighters arrived to find two garages and cars on fire, which had spread to the house and neighbouring property.

Crews used hose reels to get the fire under control and prevent further spread. The incident began scaling back at around 8am.

Firefighters reinspected the incident later in the evening and the following morning.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
