GCSE results day 2023: Coleridge Community College




Coleridge Community College staff and students are celebrating a host of top GCSE grades marking a strong performance for the school.

Some 61 per cent of students achieved a grade four or above in English and mathematics, with 44 per cent of students achieving a grade 5 or above.

Amongst those celebrating at the school today are:

- Iasonas Kazanis, who achieved seven grade 9s, two grade 9s and one grade 7;

- Isla Sinclair, who achieved five grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 6;

- Fatima Ortega, who achieved five grade 8s, two grade 8s, one grade 5 and one grade 4;

- Linus Wustenberg, who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s, three grade 7s and one grade 6;

- Daisy Aston Varney, who achieved one grade 9, seven grade 8s and one grade 7.

Speaking of his achievement, Iasonas said: “I am really happy. I can now go on to study the A-levels I want to and I am so grateful to everyone at the school who has supported me.”

Fatima added: “My mum will be so happy and proud of me. I can’t wait to celebrate with my friends and family and I am so excited about my next steps.”

Richard Shaw, interim principal at Coleridge Community College, said: “Many congratulations to our Year 11 students on a stellar set of GCSE grades for our school. Today’s results are testament to the hard work they have put into their studies and the resilience they have shown, particularly over the past few years. Thank you to staff across Coleridge, as well as our parent community, for all they have done to make sure our students have been able to reach their goals and to take their chosen next steps.”
