GCSE results days 2023: Cottenham Village College




Pupils at Cottenham Village College achieved top GCSE results, with “many happy faces” at the school today.

Among the top performing students is Theo Macon, who achieved eight grade 9s and one grade 8 and will be heading to Hills Road Sixth Form College to study physics, chemistry and mathematics.

Another highflyer is Amelia Ford achieved eight grade 9s, and one grade 8, and will be studying English literature, history and mathematics at Hills Road Sixth Form College.

Principal Zoe Andrews said: “The students at Cottenham Village College should be incredibly proud of the results that we’ve achieved at the college this year. We’re delighted to see so many happy faces today as our students have what they need to take their next step in post-16 studies, with many students heading off to sixth form provisions in Cambridge.

Rowena Hackwood, chief executive of Astrea Academy Trust which runs Cottenham Village College, said: “We are always proud of our students, but especially so today. So many of them have achieved outstanding grades and are going on to prestigious post-16 opportunities. Despite challenges, both the students and staff at our Cambridgeshire schools have worked incredibly hard this year, and we wish them all the best in their next steps.”
