Greater Cambridge Partnership launches consultation on greenway linking to guided busway
An eight-week consultation has been launched on two projects to improve walking and cycling links to the Cambridgeshire guided busway.
The improvements are designed to make it easier and safer to reach the busway path from Fen Drayton, Over, Oakington, Westwick and Cottenham.
Residents from the villages and beyond are invited to look at the proposals and have their say before midday on March 31.
The projects are part of the St Ives Greenway, which would result in the busway path adopted as part of the Greater Cambridge Greenways network.
Thomas Fitzpatrick, Greater Cambridge Partnership transport programme manager, said: “The guided busway path is a fantastic asset for our region, but for many nearby it is too hard to get to by foot or bike, and it’s really frustrating on the rare occasions that it is flooded.”
The GCP has also installed flood monitoring equipment in the Fen Drayton lakes area around the busway to gather data on flooding over the coming 18 months to help design any potential flood alleviation measures.
