How Cambridge Country Club will look when multi-million pound revamp is unveiled in April
The multi-million pound renovation of Bourn Golf & Country Club is due to be unveiled in April.
Under the new name of Cambridge Country Club, the complex promises to offer a five-star experience, with a wellness centre, gym, luxury spa, new bar and restaurant, conference and function rooms and panoramic views over the golf course.
Providing the phased reopening of the economy proceeds according to the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, the 18-hole par 72 Championship parkland golf course will be available to players from March 29, when outdoor sporting facilities are due to reopen.
The 43,000 square foot complex will follow next month, at a date to be confirmed.
The club’s head of sales, Fiona Sterne, said: “Going in and out of lockdown, opening and closing, and seeing rules changing daily has been tough for a lot of people and businesses.
“However, we're excited and looking forward to again being a safe open space for people to get some fresh air, clear their minds, and stay active.
“We are thrilled to be bringing a new, London-style 5* experience to Cambridge in a way that hasn’t been done before. We hope that the Cambridge Country Club will quickly become the ‘go-to’ destination to relax, unwind and enjoy meeting socially once again.”
The new spa facilities will include a Himalayan salt spa, steam room and sauna, beside poolside loungers. There will be five beauty rooms, a nail bar, gentleman’s barbers, and a “renowned” dermatology clinic is due to be announced soon.
Personal trainers will be available at the gym, and there will be a pro and leisure retail outlet.
New AV technology has been installed for conferences, while function rooms will be able to cater for up to 300 guests at weddings and other events.
