In pictures: Howard the horse is rescued by Cambridgeshire firefighters after becoming wedged by brick wall
Firefighters dismantled a brick wall to rescue a horse called Howard who had become wedged between it and a building.
The one-year-old was sedated by vets from Ballinger Equine, while crews worked to release him at his stables in Chrishall Grange, near Duxford.
His owner said on social media that Howard had broken some boards of a barn and got wedged between the wall and a beam.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said on Monday afternoon: “Poor Howard the Horse got himself into a bit of a pickle this afternoon getting wedged between a building and a brick wall.
“The rescue operation to free him was a perfect example of great team work between our crews (Cambridge and the south roaming pump), local vets Ballinger Equine and Howard’s owner.
“One-year-old Howard was sedated while crews carefully dismantled the brick wall to release him. He was able to be freed after an hour with only superficial injuries that will soon heal. No more playing hide and seek Howard!”
