In pictures: The stunning LIFE by Luxmuralis light and sound show at Ely Cathedral
A spectacular light and sound show was enjoyed by hundreds of people at Ely Cathedral.
LIFE by artistic collaborators Luxmuralis transformed the cathedral, taking visitors on a journey through a single day on our planet.
It featured Earth’s natural wonders, such as sunrises, oceans and clouds, reflected within the magnificent cathedral.
The son et lumière experience included an evocative soundtrack, featuring anthropological recordings from the Pitt Rivers Museum, with visuals inspired by collections from the Natural History Museum Oxford and the William Morris Museum.
Joss Palmer, event manager at Ely Cathedral, said during the event: “This light show is just as enthralling but strikingly different from the previous one we hosted.
“LIFE has been specifically designed to reflect life on today’s planet. Using uplifting music and awe-inspiring visuals, you are taken on a journey from sunrise to sunset to highlight the beauty of the Earth including the sun, the oceans, the animals and plants plus amazing landscapes.
“It is absolutely mesmerising and creatively presented with the majestic and vast space of the cathedral interior. It is truly awesome”.
The show came to a close on Saturday, 8 February.
