Jail for 22-year-old with knife chased down by officers in Cambridge

A 22-year-old found carrying a knife by officers out on patrol has been jailed for one year.

Luca Miah, of no fixed abode, was spotted by officers acting suspiciously in Cambridge in August 2022.

He ran off but the neighbourhood officers managed to catch him after a short chase on foot.

He then admitted having a knife, which the officers seized.

Miah pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article and was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (February 10).

Det Con Molly Halksworth, who investigated, said: “Tackling knife crime is a priority area for the force and I’m glad we’ve been able to take another dangerous weapon off our streets.”
