Last chance to apply for National Lottery funding for events marking the coronation of King Charles
Community groups in Cambridgeshire have until Saturday to apply for grant funding to help them celebrate May’s coronation.
The National Lottery Community Fund offers grants of between £300 and £10,000, which can be used to celebrate major national events, used to mitigate the impact of the cost of living crisis or support the Covid recovery.
But applications must be made 12 weeks in advance, so with the coronation of King Charles due to take place on May 6, the deadline to apply for grants to fund events marking the occasion is Saturday.
Julie Spence, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, said: “The coronation is going to be a huge national celebration which will bring joy across the country.
“Moreover, it will be an opportunity to bring communities together so I would urge anyone who is planning an event to mark this landmark event to be quick and get their applications in!”
Applications could also be made for events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush, which carried hundreds of passengers from the Caribbean, on June 21.
The National Lottery funds projects and organisations that aim to build strong relationships in communities.
