The incident occurred on the northbound carriageway, but the southbound carriageway has been closed for the air ambulance to land.

National Highways said traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads in both directions.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.35am today (3 March) with reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles on the northbound carriageway of the M11 between Cambridge and Duxford.

“Emergency services have attended the scene of the collision, which involved three vehicles. Details of any injuries are unclear at this stage.”
