M11 southbound reopens after crash that led to eight miles of traffic
Up to eight miles of traffic built up as the M11 southbound was closed between Junction 9 for the A11 and Junction 8 for Stansted on Thursday evening.
The road was finally reopened at about 7pm following the two-vehicle accident, but delays were expected as traffic cleared.
The carriageway was blocked from just after 5pm as a vehicle was removed from the central reservation.
Essex Police and National Highways attended the scene.
Meanwhile, earlier on Thursday evening, a lane of the A14 westbound between Junction 25 for Bar Hill and Junction 24 for Swavesey was closed, leading to queues of around a mile, following a collision. The westbound slip road at Junction 24 for Cambridge Services was also closed.
