Make a new year’s resolution to help the homeless by signing up for CamCRAG’s sleepout in Cambridge

CamCRAG (Cambridge Convoy Refugee Action Group) has urged people to make a new year’s resolution to help refugees, displaced people and the homeless by signing up to its sixth annual sponsored sleepout on the night of February 10-11.

It is partnering with homeless charity Emmaus Cambridge for the event at St Giles’ Church in Cambridge, which will follow a winter fair with stalls and refreshments.

CamCRAG said: “This is a really effective way to spread the love at the coldest time of year, raising funds to help people living in misery in makeshift camps in Northern France, or struggling with homelessness in Cambridge.”

After a hearty meal, participants will settle down to sleep in the church grounds.

In previous years, CamCRAG has worked with Wintercomfort, the Cyrenians, Cambridge Churches Homeless Project, the Whitworth Trust and Cambridge Street Aid, raising up to £15,000 each time – and the group is hoping to beat that amount this time.
