Members of the public carried out CPR in vain effort to save victim

A man died from a suspected heart attack in a Cambridge Park despite attempts by the public to save him.

People took turns to carry out CPR for more than 30 minutes while paramedics rushed to the scene in Fen Ditton Meadows.

The man is thought to have collapsed around 5pm on March 8 but unfortunately he later died at the scene.

Police and paramedics attended the scene and the East of England air ambulance is also believed to have later landed close to the site.

There has been no comment from the East of England air ambulance service or the Cambridgeshire police as yet.
