Mayoral candidates for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority will face questions on housing and infrastructure tonight (Wednesday) ahead of next month’s poll.
All five candidates have been invited to the event, with the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and Green parties confirming their attendance.
Standing for election on 1 May are Conservative Paul Bristow, Labour’s Anna Smith, Liberal Democrat Lorna Dupré, Green candidate Bob Ensch and Reform UK’s Ryan Coogan.
Hosted by Resilience Web and Cambridge Retrofit Hub, candidates will be grilled on how they would use their powers and budget to improve the availability, affordability, accessibility, and sustainability of housing and infrastructure in the region.
Themes will include energy efficiency of homes, quality of new housing, access to housing, nature and water, and food and sustainable transport.
The free hustings will be held at the Wesley Methodist Church in Cambridge and online at 6.30pm this evening.
Residents are asked to register at bit.ly/4cbKWZZ for in-person tickets and bit.ly/3RyEsup for online tickets to help organisers manage numbers.
