Mazda Cambridge celebrates three decades of the iconic MX-5
EMG Motor Group Mazda Cambridge celebrated the 30th anniversary of the MX-5 at its showroom on Milton Road on Saturday (August 10), with members of the Mazda MX-5 Owners Club in attendance.
Byron Hazelwood-Giles, new car sales manager at EMG Cambridge, said: “The MX-5 is 30 years old, and they’ve done it in a limited edition which comes in the racing orange – only 3,000 have been made for the whole world and we had two here in the showroom.
"The UK has got 600 of them.”
Byron added: “The MX-5 is Mazda’s icon.
"Mazda will always do the MX-5 because it is such a great sports car.”
Rob Marsh from the Mazda MX-5 Owners Club said: "I've been an enthusiast since about 1992 when I was 16.
"I grew up always wanting one, looking at it and thinking it was too expensive, to getting older and realising that they are affordable now.
"The MX-5 is a fantastic little cavalier sports car."
