Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after collision in Cottenham




A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a collision with a car in Cottenham yesterday afternoon (Monday, May 19).

The East Anglian Air Ambulance airlifted the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital after emergency services were called to attend the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.33pm yesterday (18 May) to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a car on Twentypence Road, Cottenham. Emergency services attended the scene.

“The motorcyclist, a man, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries. The vehicles were recovered and the road was reopened at 7.10pm.”

A resident who lives close to the site of the crash told the Cambridge Independent: “Neighbours say there was an accident involving a young lad on a motorbike and a driver. I heard the helicopter landing. I hope everyone is OK.”
