Cambridge taxi firm Camcab has launched an ice cream service for its customers, says owner and managing director Rowhi Nemer.

“It’s there for our customers, we want to cheer them up in the summer,” says Mr Nemer. “You can book the van subject to availability, it’s available now.”

The van – driven by a Camcab driver – is available to any customer who has booked the firm’s service more than 50 times via the app, which is downloadable free on Google Play or iStore.

Mr Cam Cab, as the van is called, is part of Camcab’s community agenda and can be called out free.

“You can book it for a wedding, a BBQ, or a summer party,” added Mr Nemer. “Or if your mum or dad is in a care home, just call us up and we will drive round. Any one of our drivers can drive it from Camcab.”

The Coldhams Lane-based firm will also raise money for charities. “We don’t charge anything but we’re happy if people want to make a donation to MIND or any other charity – we’ll go to any charity event too.”
